Origin Green at EXPO Milan 2015

The universal theme for EXPO Milan of ‘Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life’ – the challenge the world faces of providing the growing population with safe, high quality, sustainable food supplies for generations. Origin Green is Ireland’s promise to the world to be a leading source of sustainably produced food and drink for generations to come. For that reason, it was unanimously decided by the Irish government, that Origin Green would be the underpinning theme of the Ireland Pavilion at EXPO 2015.

The Ireland Pavilion

On entering the Ireland pavilion each visitor will embark on an unforgettable journey through the Irish countryside to
experience how Ireland’s people are working together with a gentle climate and ever-changing elements to make world class, sustainable farming possible as illustrated by Origin Green. This journey is brought to life by the immersive filmic experience experience imagewhich aims to bring each visitor on a tour through Ireland to encounter the breath-taking seascapes and inland waters, the biodiverse countryside and the bountiful grasslands.

They will also discover how the spectacular landscapes of this island at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, in synergy with a vibrant culture and a unique way of life, combine to offer visitors to Ireland an unforgettable holiday experience. One of the highlights of this experience is to drive along the Wild Atlantic Way, the world’s longest signposted coastal touring route which covers over 2,500 kilometres of stunning scenery on the Western seaboard.EXPO

The Ireland pavilion, developed on a 1,175 square metre site is made up of three levels. The ground floor will host the main visitor experience including the film and an open gallery with an insightful graphic representation that will bring Ireland, Origin Green and the Wild Atlantic Way to life. On the first floor there is a mezzanine gallery which will facilitate the business events organised during the Exposition. Access onto a third level of open roof space will permit further opportunities to host various Ireland events against the colourful background of the EXPO site.

Over the course of the six months, Bord Bia will host an average of 2 business events per week from the Ireland pavilion. For more information contact Barbara.Dunne@bordbia.ie
