While the Hogan family has been producing Dulce de Leche since the ’90s, generations of the family have been farming the rich pastures of Co. Offaly for decades.
The rich rolling landscape produces some of the best milk in Ireland and is also home to a network of food producers who excel in the quality and diversity of their products
The company was formed in 1996 with a view to setting up a Dulce de Leche manufacturing site, which was completed in 1999.
Clara Fields Ltd now manufacturers Dulce de Leche, plus other caramels, used by manufacturers and chefs in Ireland and the UK.
Key Sustainability Commitments
Raw Material Sourcing
- To have 100% of direct material, packaging suppliers and hauliers complete an ethical and sustainability questionnaire by 31/12/2017. This will be from a base of 0%.
- Reduce diesel usage by 10% by 2017 insulating steam pipes in production room.
- To tidy up the outside perimeter of the site i.e. outside the fence, where there is some debris in the field, to ensure its ease of maintenance. Clara Fields will also plant some more trees around the entire perimeter.
- To increase donation to Capuchin Day Centre, Dublin by 150%.
Unique Selling Points
Clara Fields is a European-based manufacturer of a South American product. It has small MOQs relative to South American volumes, and its flexible production facility can facilitate customer requirements.
