The Good4U story began in 2004 with the seeds of a great idea. Bernie and daughter Michelle, a certified dietician and nutritionist, were introduced to the sprouting phenomena, most notably the extra special Super Sprouts.

Bernie and Michelle, alongside sister Laura, germinated new ideas in the form of Alfalfa sprouts and Lentil sprout mix, followed by Super Bites and Super Bites Kids.

The ever-expanding product development team work continuously with third-level institutes to develop innovative products that meet the shifting demands of a dynamic market.

The company has won a number of awards including four Gold Great Taste Awards. Lentil Sprout Mix and Super Sprouts were awarded Gold in 2008, while this year Super Bites – the new healthy snack for kids – also won big at the Lunch! Awards.

Its impressive range of cutting-edge products are currently stocked in over 2,000 shops across the UK and Ireland, including Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury’s.

Raw Material Sourcing

All raw materials are sourced from approved reputable suppliers. All suppliers must undergo rigorous assessment by the Quality Department prior to being approved. Various components are considered including product quality, allergen control, micro testing, third-party accreditation. Good4U have now incorporated a section on ethical trading to their approval process and will auditing suppliers as one of their Origin Green targets.


  1. Target: 100% of suppliers providing sustainability certifications (27/27 suppliers).
  2. Target: 100% of suppliers audited against G4U policy and Supplier agreement contract.

Manufacturing Processes

  • Reduce energy per unit by min 5% per year.
  • Reduce water use by unit by 15%.
  • Reduce packaging waste from 0.022 tonne/unit to 0.020 tonne/unit.
  • Reduced mixed waste from 0.0167 tonne/unit to 0.0160 tonne/unit (5%).
