McDonald’s opened its first restaurant in Ireland in 1977 on Grafton St and since then we have been proud to serve Irish people with some of their favourite food.   Along the way, we’ve managed not just to live history, but create it by opening the first drive-thru restaurant in Europe in Nutgrove.  We continue to focus on food innovation such as McMór.

The McMór burger showcases the best of Irish ingredients – 100% Bord Bia approved beef patties, Ballymaloe Relish and Charleville Cheese.   A cross function team spent many months carrying out customer research and worked with chefs in Kerry and Dawn to develop this delicious burger.

Over 150,000 customers visit McDonald’s restaurants each day in Ireland. Menu options vary from the iconic Big Mac, chicken wraps, freshly ground coffee, salads, breakfast products such as Sausage and Egg McMuffin, Happy Meals, chicken sandwiches as well as fruit portions.

There are 91 McDonald’s restaurants in Ireland of which 8 are company owned and the balance are operated by 21 Owner Operators. McDonald’s operators a system of central distribution.   Martin Brower Ireland is the sole distributor for McDonald’s restaurants and delivers products to stores either two or three times per week depending on volume and is based in Clondalkin, Dublin. All 91 stores are located in the Republic of Ireland.
