About the company

Ingredient Solutions, set up in 2000, provides innovative cheese ingredients & products across many sectors of the food industry. They have an extensive customer base including two of the wold's largest global franchise chains and hundreds of ready meal, fast food and food on the go outlets. Products using their cheese are on virtually every supermarket shelf in the United Kingdom and Ireland.


Our facility, based in Boherbue, Co. Cork, is in the heart of the cheese-producing region of Ireland, with a heritage and tradition centuries old. Our team also have over a century of combined experience in helping bring profitable products to market. With substantial investment at our Boherbue facility, we are able to provide a fully integrated service, covering all aspects of cheese from consultancy, product design and prototype development, through to full service production.


Since May 2022 the company was taken over by private cheese dairy Rupp, the largest family-owned company in the Austrian dairy industry, founded in 1908.

Key Sustainability Commitments

Spotlight Target Area: Packaging


Ingredient Solutions recognises the importance of sustainability and social responsibility and the impact of the business both on our rural local community and also on our planet. Ingredient Solutions was awarded Platinum status (Top 1%) by sustainability ratings experts EcoVadis in recognition of its efforts towards sustainability in 2021 and in 2022. Origin Green Certification has ensured Ingredient Solutions continue to pay close attention to sustainability and sourcing within their business.


Within Ingredient Solutions current sustainability plan (2022 - 2027), the company has committed to reduce cardboard and plastic packaging 12.5% by 2027. Five initiatives have been developed for this target including promoting more reusable packaging options, liaising with customers to offer alternative packaging options, and reduction in film microns. The company has moved quickly towards achieving this target by moving a lot of stock into pallecons to reduce cardboard.
