Eggs
Greenfield Foods are the leading supplier of eggs in Ireland. We grade, pack and distribute approximately 6 million eggs per week nationwide with the help of our 56 full time and 16 part time staff.
All our eggs come from local Irish farms that are approved by Bord Bia under the Sustainable Egg Assurance Scheme. Our products include eggs from all production types – Free Range, Organic, Barn and Enriched colonies. We have a production base of over 1 million birds from 63 farm sites owned by producers across counties Monaghan, Cavan, Meath, Westmeath, Sligo and Galway.
We also pack speciality products such as Omega-3 enriched Free Range and Cornfed Free Range. As well as supplying the major retailers with their own branded products, we also pack our own brands including Greenfield, Ballyfree, Omega, Big & Jumbo and Innisfree.
Greenfield Foods envisage becoming a leader in sustainable practice for its operation and also in the way it serves its customers. By embedding sustainability into our own company, we ensure that it is embedded in all the products we provide to our customers.
Some key sustainable commitments the company are keen to implement are on-farm sustainable initiatives (energy, waste etc), reduction of energy consumption in the packing centre, reducing levels of plastic in our process, employee well-being targets and social engagement with the local community.
Greenfield Foods are committed to establishing a working group of egg suppliers with the aim to discuss and share best practice in the areas of animal welfare, biosecurity, hygiene and any other environmental issues or improvements that can be made.
Greenfield Foods have committed to developing a wildflower garden on their premises.
Greenfield Foods will continue to support charities, including donating 8,000 dozen eggs to Irish charity Bóthar and providing continued financial support to the Irish Cancer Society. In addition the company also supports local charities and initiatives, including Monaghan Community Games, Monaghan GAA and Fermanagh GAA.
