Miena’s Irish Handmade Nougat was established by owner Willemien Rust in 2012 in the Glen of Imaal in Co. Wicklow. Inspired by a ‘Start Your Own Business’ course through the Wicklow Enterprise Board, Miena’s nougat is produced in a specially designed kitchen where all products are individually wrapped for added care and attention.
The company adds nothing artificial to its multi award winning nougat which is inspired by timeless recipes, with a fusion of South African, Irish and continental influences.
Miena’s are currently organising and implementing a supplier survey, which is to be sent to all suppliers of their raw materials. This will be used to identify the sustainability credentials of potential and current suppliers, allowing the company to choose the most environmentally friendly suppliers to work with.
Miena's places focus on employee health and wellbeing by offering a selection of herbal and organic teas, fruit and nuts in the staff canteen.
