Irish Distillers was formed in 1966, when a merger took place between John Power & Son, John Jameson & Son and Cork Distilleries Company. In 1988 Irish Distillers joined Pernod Ricard, and are currently Ireland’s leading supplier of spirits and wines and producer of the world’s most well-known and successful Irish whiskeys.
Exporting to 130+ markets, with over 71 of those experiencing double- or triple-digit growth Irish Distillers employs 600 people across their operations in Cork and Dublin.
Irish Distillers have set a target of 100 % of all farmer suppliers to be IGAS certified by the end of 2018.
Irish Distillers will enhance the biodiversity on their site by incorporating eco-design / biodiversity features in the new whiskey maturation complex in Dungourney, such as wetland vegetation to secondary stormwater attenuation areas, Planting mixed trees and shrubs & Incorporation of traditional meadow grass and flower species in the large green areas on the site.
Yearly targets are in place to decrease energy usage by 21% and water usage by 15% by 2023.They also hope to achieve zero waste to landfill by 2020.
