100% of milk supplied to Dairygold from over 2,800 farms is certified under the Bord Bia Sustainable Dairy Assurance Scheme (SDAS). The company are working with their (non milk) supplier base to ensure the use of sustainable raw materials including ingredients and packaging materials.
Dairygold are reducing emissions through an anaerobic digester which generates renewable biogas from process waste water. This has reduced carbon emissions at their Castlefarm site by 3,000 tC02 per annum. The energy efficiency of waste water treatment at the Castlefarm production facility has been improved by 27% since 2011. Between 2011 and 2016 the company improved the water efficiency per litre of milk processed in cheddar production by 13%.
The R&D and Innovation team are focused on developing a range of new and enhanced products including health and nutrition benefits for their B2B customers.
The company contributes to local charities, sports, education and social groups. Dairygold is committed to improving biodiversity in their catchment area through supporting local biodiversity / pollinator projects at their sites and on their supplier farms
