Exporting quality dairy and agri-ingredients as well as branded products to over 70 countries, Glanbia Ireland produces choice dairy products from grass-fed, pasture raised dairy herds. Drawing from a 2.6 billion litre milk pool supplied by 5,000 family farms on the island of Ireland, combined with Irish produced grains and state-of-the-art milling facilities, this unique platform provides fully traceable, nutrition rich and sustainable responsibly produced products.
Glanbia Ireland is a joint venture, 60% owned by Glanbia Co-op and 40% owned by Glanbia plc. Established in July 2017, Glanbia Ireland combines Glanbia Ingredients Ireland, Glanbia Consumer Products and Glanbia Agribusiness.

Glanbia Ireland (GI) has a very special relationship with our co-op members who are our grain and milk suppliers. GI currently has a 100% participation rate among our 4,800 farmer base in the RoI in our Open Source™ sustainability and quality assurance programme and Bord Bia's Sustainable Dairy Assurance Scheme with 98% certified. Environmental Stewardship, Biodiversity, Animal Care as well as the health and welfare of our farmers is very important to Glanbia Ireland and this is reflected in the multiple initiatives that we actively lead.
Over the past ten years improved energy efficiency and reduced carbon emissions has been improved throughout our processing facilities by almost 50%. GI’s objective in the 2015 – 2020 time-frame is to reduce energy, carbon emissions and water abstraction by a further 10%.
GI have a zero waste to landfill target across all 11 sites by 2020. With an increasing emphasis on the circular economy GI is now also looking at waste as a potential resource and is looking to convert all waste into a useful by-product through an innovative bio-science programme.
GI has a wide range of products to promote health and nutrition in both or domestic and international markets with on-going new product development and innovation.
GI has developed and launched a broad portfolio of value added milks including fat free fortified milk, milk high in Vitamin D and folic acid, high protein sports nutrion milk, and Milk with stenols to reduce cholesterol levels, through Avonmore, Irelands favourite milk brand.
Glanbia supports this range of Avonmore Milk with significant investment in advertising, across TV, Radio, Press as well as social and digital.
