Glenilen Farm is a dairy business owned by farmers Alan & Valerie Kingston, based in Drimoleague, West Cork. The Kingston's started selling yoghurts cheesecakes 20 years ago at the Skibbereen farmers market. They made everything in their kitchen and applied handmade labels to the finished products.
20 years on, the recipes haven't changed but a significant business and brand has been established both in the Irish and UK market. Glenilen Farm produces natural farmhouse produce using milk from Kingston's herd and surrounding farms.
The core lines are yoghurt and cold-set cheesecakes. Glenilen Farm's natural farmhouse yoghurt accounts for 70% of the total business. The yoghurt is made with live probiotic strains and is available in three ranges - Natural Yoghurt, Natural Yoghurt with Fruit, Thick and Fruity Natural Yoghurt.
Glenilen Farm’s primary raw material i.e. milk is sourced from neighbouring farms through Drinagh co-op in West Cork. This allows Glenilen Farm to have total control over its Primary Raw Material, and therefore ensuring that it is produced in the most sustainable manner possible, while adhering to the highest standards in Animal Welfare.
Solar roof panels have been installed on the production facility, all rain water is harvested on the dairy roof of the farm, they recycle all waste glass, cardboard and plastic
Achieved a significant reduction in sugar content in their products (10%) without compromising on the functionality, taste and quality.
