Collar of Gold was established in 2017, they represent Ireland’s first edible oil refinery business in over 30 years. Collar of Gold product is the only mild Irish rapeseed oil in Ireland. It is made from virgin oil, from seed grown by Irish Farmers.
Due to careful seed selection and manufacturing methods their slow mechanical cold pressing extracts the oil whilst leaving behind the bitter outer shells. Ensuring it is 100% natural and pure, the company only use steam to remove the strong taste and colour typically associated with cold pressed rapeseed oil. Collar of Gold is used in all of Dublin’s Michelin Star restaurants, and in five of London’s.
Committed to Responsible Sourcing:
Collar of Gold will source 100% of rapeseed from suppliers with an accreditation such as Irish Grain Assurance Scheme and Universal Feed Assurance Scheme by 2020.
Focus on Biodiversity:
Collar of Gold are collaborating with the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan developing a project due to be implemented by the end of 2018.
Reducing Packaging Waste:
Targets are in place to source 100% recyclable and Forest Stewardship Council certified packaging for all their product lines by 2019.
