Irish at heart, Global by nature, Total Produce can trace its origins right back to 1850’s Ireland with the establishment of a modest fruit & vegetable wholesale business, “Charles McCann’s Fruit & Vegetable Market” in Dundalk. Serving the retail, wholesale and foodservice sectors, Total Produce is Ireland’s market leader in the provision of fresh fruits & vegetables, offering a range that extends from the more familiar to the truly exotic.

With depots in Dundalk, Dublin, Kilkenny, Cork, Kerry, Sligo, Donegal, Derry and Belfast, Total Produce grows, sources, imports, packages, markets and distributes over 300 lines of fresh produce. The largest consolidator of locally grown Irish fresh produce, Total Produce’s Grá brand is applied to a broad range of Irish grown fruits, vegetables and herbs .

An Irish success story, Total Produce is today one of the world’s largest and most accomplished fresh produce providers. Operating out of 26 countries while serving many more, Total Produce‘s global infrastructure of over 140 facilities extends across Europe, India and North America.

Key Sustainability Commitments

Focused on Responsible Sourcing:

Total Produce sources 100% of its Irish produce from growers that participate in Bord Bia's Sustainable Horticulture Quality Assurance Scheme. Other produce is sourced from growers and companies that participate in other certified schemes such as Global GAP (Good Agricultural Practice) and BRC (British Retail Consortium).

Committed to Reducing their Environmental Impact:

Total Produce is committed to reducing emissions, focusing on reducing diesel consumption by 35% by 2021. In fact, they are the first company in Ireland to introduce a fleet run on LPG (liquid petroleum gas) and have targets in place to increase the number of LPG vehicles in their fleet over the next 3 years. They are also focused on energy reduction and have a target in place to switch to 100% LED lights in 3 of their largest depots in Ireland by 2021.

Supporting Local Communities:

Total Produce provides sponsorship for Dundalk FC, donates fruit to local communities and provides fresh produce to employees at all their pack house facilities. The company also offers an Employee Health & Lifestyle Screening Programme every three years to encourage a longer and healthier life.
