Carr & Sons Seafood was first established in 1946, but in 1998 it moved to Killala, a small fishing town on the North West coast of Ireland where it currently employs approximately 70 people. The factory specialises in traditionally smoked fish and quality and taste have been the hallmark of Carr & Sons for over 50 years. This has been preserved in the wide range of fresh and ready to eat seafood products, which subtly combine the traditional taste of Ireland with the needs of the modern consumer.
Our BRC Grade ‘A’ approved production facility produces a range of seafood products including Award Winning Hand Filleted Smoked Salmon and Hand Sliced BBQ Salmon cooked and smoked according to a traditional recipe. Delicately smoked and nutritious trout, mackerel and herring also form part of our product range and are ideal for the health conscious and busy consumer. These products, combined with our delicious salmon sensation and Gold Award winning hot smoked salmon sensation offer the discerning customer a superior dining experience.
Our products are sold mainly in retail outlets in Ireland where a number of the larger outlets also stock our products under ‘own brand’ labels.
Since joining Origin Green we have reduced our water usage by over 50% by ceasing to use water for defrosting any products.
